What it is

Two clear acrylic blocks. Borrowed from the stamping bench, where a dead-flat transparent surface has always been the point, and just as useful on a card bench.

What it does

A flat, clean, non-porous surface

Acrylic does not shed fibres, hold dust or absorb cleaner the way a desk or a cutting mat does. You get a known surface under the card.

A clear base for inspection and photos

Light passes straight through, so you can shoot a card or check an edge without a background fighting you.

A weight that will not mark

Smooth faces and real mass hold a sleeve or a toploader still while you work.

How to use it

  1. Wipe both faces before each session; they pick up dust like anything else.
  2. Lay the card on one block to clean, so the back is on glass-smooth acrylic instead of your desk.
  3. Use the second block as a clear backdrop or a steady weight.
  4. Clean with water or a plastic-safe cleaner. Never acetone or ammonia glass cleaner, both craze acrylic.

One thing to know

These are a work surface, not a card press. Flattening or pressing a card to improve its look is treated as alteration by PSA, BGS and CGC and can have a submission rejected. Use them under a card, not on top of one.
